This site is an excellent source for their history because it is the party’s website, but it might be a little biased and favor the BJP. The site provides a basic overview of BJP’s history. The site contains an easy-to-read graphic timeline, starting at 1925 and continuing to today. They even subdivided the graphic to make it easier to read. It also shares information on the party’s presidents. The site shares the years they served and quick biographies on some of the presidents. This site is very useful as it will provide a balanced perspective for students wishing to better understand the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Damian Hunt's Link on the Caste System in India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka There were many reasons why this site was selected. This site provides a unique perspective on the origins of the caste system in India. Moreover, this article also goes into the literature about the caste system and how other sources frame the problem. Next, the aforementioned article talks about the effects that the caste system has on people, economically and socially. Consequently, the author also writes about what India and the other countries are doing to alleviate the discrimination which the caste system created and preserved. Finally, the author concludes the article by talking about the overall effects of a caste system. The paper is written to establish a link between poverty and the caste system which it did. This paper provides unique insight on how the caste system has effectively created a system of cyclical poverty to those at the lowest level of the ladder until they are able to escape.
